• As a young lad in the 1970’s, Paul Connor enjoyed attending local estate and farm auctions.
• With wife and muse, Linda, at his side, early business ventures included a string of retail stores that sold and specialized in jewelry, antiques, collectibles (1977-1981).
• Worked in the restaurant industry for 25 years.
• Exploration into selling old restaurant equipment on the eBay led him to open EZ Sell USA in the backroom of Choo Choo Charlie’s in Dubuque, Iowa
• Closing the restaurant in 2006 led to selling fulltime on eBay from 2 locations in Dubuque.
• As demand increased, he expanded to the current 10,000 square foot store at 201 Commerce St., downtown historic Galena, IL.
• As inventory increased, an additional 10,000 square foot “annex” was acquired next door to main store.
• Paul often refers – with a smile – to EZ Sell USA as his “L i t t l e M o n s t e r”, that must be cared for.
• As eBay is still currently the ideal platform for selling inventory, estate sales also add another significant component to EZ Sell USA. Items not sold at these estate sales are added to the stores and or listed ‘online’.
• Paul is a master of “research” and “value” – and shares this talent for discovering unusual and very valuable items in a weekly column for area newspapers called “WHAT’S IT WORTH ON eBay?”
• Paul’s mantra “Happy Bidding” may refer to myriads of valuables listed by his team: Jewelry, signed paintings, 1920’s football programs, rare old German Christmas ornaments, 1st edition rare books, antique dolls, Mid-Century Modern furnishings, rare coins, vintage cameras, zippo lighters, tin litho toys, crazy quilts, fishing gear, sports equipment, unique tools, designer clothing, American Folk Art, Irish walking canes, African wood sculptures and masks, toy soldiers, and anything that is “Moral or Legal” to sell.
• Paul delights in filling his enclosed trailer and frequently returns with it in tow – in the darkness of night, with “treasures” from auctions, estates, and storage units from around the tri-state area.
